Nordbahntrasse Wuppertal developed a new city living ‘quarter’ for Wuppertal, Germany. The work done for this project Analyzes the Regional, Urban and Site relationships that structure the Design. The concept ‘the crossing’ where people meet hearken back to the scale of the valley, its topography crossed through by the River the ‘Wupper’, This then also forms the specificity of the urban form and the concentration which happens at ‘crossings’. The housing blocks are a mix of townhouses and multifamily unit types that create an ‘open hof’ structure, that focus on the various existing context creating different characters for each ‘hof’ or open courtyard.
